Still reeling from the biggest collapse in the clubs 36 year history, SVCU bounced back with a convincing 16-5 win over the Mighty Bucks. "Win one for the Zammer", inspirational and encouraging words by current team president and veteran blue liner Blaine "Soup" Campbell was all that needed to be heard. Always one to lead by example, the Blue Chip Blue Liner registered a season high 5 goals, and was instrumental in the club regaining it's winning psyche.

With the Mighty Bucks icing only 4 skaters, SVCU forwards Barry "Shooter" Eggie, Wade "Booster" Cable, and blue liner Kevin "Special K" Kopecky suited with the Bucks on a one game loan contract. Donning a Mighty Buck Jersey had little effect on Wade "Booster" Cable as he proceeded to bury a hat trick behind teammate Mike "Smitty" Smith.

Kevin "Special K " Kopecky was forced to leave the game early with an undisclosed "Lower Body" injury. He is listed as day to day, which may come as a huge disappointment for those season ticket holders in Minitonas who are still anxiously awaiting the return of their Prodigal Son!

The Marathon comes to a close this Friday night in the comfy confines of the Minitonas Arena with a tilt against the Loggers.
And I had a goal disallowed - notable only since I never score...
ReplyDeleteAlso I managed to go -10 in a game where we only allowed five goals against!
