SVCU "Gun Down" the Outlaws 6-3...

With just the right mix of offense , defense, and solid goal tending, SVCU skated  to their fourth victory in a row with a 6-3 win over the Valley Outlaws. CU opened the scoring early with a beautiful finish to an end to end rush by sure footed defense man Kevin "Special K" Kopecky. SVCU went ahead by 2 when  Jeremy "OT Kid" Gray scored his first of two on the evening.

" Dancing " Danton Ashcroft put SVCU up by three with a seeing eye dog on the pinch that fooled  Outlaw tender Andy "Butch" Hodgson.

Some questionable penalty calls by  30 year officiating veteran Jimmy "No see'em" Webster had CU's PK unit logging big minutes. Playing the "Box" to perfection, the Outlaws were held to perimeter shooting only, allowing cagey SVCU puck stopper, Mike "Smitty" Smith to handle all that was thrown at him.

The bubble finally burst on the Outlaws fourth P.P. when Wade "End to End" Davy split the CU defense, and cashed in on his own rebound. The Outlaws came within one, when forward Dangerous Dave "Dangler" Kirk scored on a goal mouth scramble. The TSN turning point of the game came when Jeremy "OT Kid" Gray deflected an errant point shot  that went "Cookie Jar" on Andy "Butch" Hodgson before he had a chance to blink. Finishing off a  2 on1 dangle, Outlaw forward Brad "Siggy" Sigurdson scored keeping the Outlaws alive.  Forcing the Outlaw "D" all evening, dividends paid off  big for CU defense man turned power forward Craig " In Your Face" Zamzow , as he managed to collect the garbage to regain a two goal lead. Warren "Wheels" Gray salted the victory late with a sensational top shelf snipe securing the W.
