11 - 2 Tarnishing of the Silver Seven ....

Even the -40 temperatures could not cool off the offensive display by SVCU. Skating with a full squad for the first time this year, SVCU continued to have their way offensively. With all three lines contributing, SVCU scored early and never looked back. Veteran forward Rex "Golden Vet" Leach, skating and fore checking like a 49 year old, made numerous tape to tape passes. The game took an ugly turn when scrappy left winger Dennis " Surgeon " Bowles was blindsided with a crushing blow by a frustrated Silver Seven Defender. The questionable tactics did not end there , as freewheeling center men Jeff " Skinny" Knight was the recipient of no less than two possible season ending checks. Bowles, trying to shake the cob webs, was forced to hit he showers early. Later quoted "I didn't see the fucker coming, Hey did Barry score on my perfectly fed pass? " Stalwart on the blue line, the combinations of Zamzow /Gray, and Henklemen/Campbell proved to be impenetrable to the Silver Seven offensive forays. Mike "Smitty" Smith played a solid game despite ongoing equipment and vehicle issues. A spectacular glove save seemed to give the net minder the reassurance that the $300 purchase may well have been worth it. Thursday SVCU travels to Benito to take on the Kenville Flyer's.
