SVCU lose Pond Hockey Classic 8-5 to the Valley Outlaws...

After waiting outside a locked Bowsman Arena for 30 minutes , SVCU and the Valley Outlaws were finally able to hit the ice. Playing under the honour system (Offical unable to attend), the pace was quick, with few stoppages in play. This may have been to the Outlaws advantage, at times hemming SVCU in their own end for minutes. Making his post - Christmas return was Jeff "Skinny" Knight. Forced to skate between the "McDonalds", Knight showed no signs of rust, netting himself a hat trick. The veteran line of Barry "Shooter" Eggie, Rex "Golden Vet" Leach, and Gary "Duke" Kennedy , having a combined age greater than the entire Outlaw roster, diligently tried to slow the game down. Forced to play the majority of the game in their own end, SVCU's back end was resilient. Puck stopper Mike "Smitty" Smith was superb, keeping the game close. Defenders Blaine "Soupy" Campbell, Brian "Barnes" Minish and Bantam call up Evan "Man Boy" Morden , made numerous defensive plays as well as jumping up into many odd man rushes. Will this week ever end???
